The problem

Children are curious about nearly everything and bored by nearly any lesson. Most learning apps paper over this with points, streaks and badges. The curiosity was never the problem.

The experience

A parent types what matters, in plain English. Yarnily writes the child into an illustrated, narrated story where understanding it is the plot. Nothing is timed, scored or marked.

Children ask good questions and lose interest the moment the answer arrives as a lesson. Yarnily puts the answer inside a story instead.

How it works

A parent types what matters, in plain English. Why the moon is out during the day. Fractions. Handling anger. The first trip to the dentist.

Yarnily writes the child into an illustrated, narrated story where understanding that is the plot. It is shaped around them: their age, their interests, the characters they already know, what they have read before. Not a template with a name swapped in.

After the story

The story can carry on into a short activity built from it: the same pictures, the same characters, the words it introduced. A sheet prints with it, and there is one small thing to try away from the screen. Water one plant. Find three round things.

Parents get a short guide: the words the story used, and one question worth asking.

None of it is required. Skip it and nothing is lost.

What we left out

No score. No badge, no streak, nothing timed or marked. The learning journey shows what a child met. The words, the worlds, the feelings. Then it stops. It counts what was made. It does not grade the child.

Stories are parent-controlled and safety-checked. Where a child asks for a character somebody else owns, Yarnily writes them an original one instead.
